I am getting stoked for the start of the season. One of the things I wanted to do was revisit some of the best home season openers at Arrowhead. This is more than just a stroll down memory lane… it is all part of the fun and the hype for the season.
Check out the recaps, soak in the memories and re live the fun. Reading the highlights is nice, but I love watching them, so I'm pulling up the video for each one. So excited for the start of the season.
Game 1: The Comeback

And then Mahomes just decided that wasn't happening, launching a 75-yard bomb to Tyreek Hill that flipped the entire game on its head.
A dropped punt snap handed us the ball right after, Kelce finished the job, and Mike Hughes slammed the door with a game-sealing pick.
This is peak "never count us out" Chiefs football.
Game 2: Winning by a Toe
2024 vs. Ravens
This one is classic. It launched a season of incredibly close wine.
An inch!
One inch of a toe separated us from a completely different ending here.
It still fun to re-watch, even knowing how it ended.
Game 3: Wet and Wild
2010 vs. Chargers
Jamaal Charles gets the Chiefs going with a monster 56 yard run for the TOUCHDOWN KANSASA CITY!
The Defense shows strong in the rain with a strip by Derrick Johnson. Leading to another TOUCHDOWN KANSASA CITY!
Pouring rain, over 71,000 fans, a rookie named Dexter McCluster taking a punt return 94 yards for a TOUCHDOWN KANSASA CITY!
Phillip joined a long list of opposing QB's, who just couldn't take the NOISE of Arrowhead. You know… I miss watching the Chiefs make Phillip frustrated at Arrowhead.
Defenses stiffens and keeps the Chargers out of the end zone with 33 seconds left on the clock for a KC win!
Game 4: Banner Night for the Champs!
2020 vs. Texans
Before a single snap, we raised our first championship banner in 50 years!
I know I was still flying high from the Super Bowl 54 win at the start of this season.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire went off for 138 yards in his very first NFL game.
Mahomes was clean all night. A perfect way to open a title with some big D.
