Living on the West Coast means Royals games are usually starting right as my day winds down, so I'll admit it: I miss a lot of these live. But even catching things secondhand, this team put together real highlight-reel moments in 2026.

The biggest one is recent: rookie catcher Carter Jensen just won AL Player of the Week for Aug. 31–Sept. 6, going 8-for-19 with seven extra-base hits and 6 RBI, including a multi-homer game against the Marlins and a night he came a single short of the cycle. His home run that week was his 22nd of the season, tying him with Carlos Beltran and Bo Jackson for the second-most by a Royals rookie ever.

Jensen's the first Royals rookie to win the award since Vinnie Pasquantino in 2022, and he's not the only one who's had a moment. Jac Caglianone put together a career-high five-hit, six-RBI game against Toronto, and Bobby Witt Jr. has been Bobby Witt Jr. all year, an 11-game on-base streak at one point, hitting .349 with power and speed to match.

So even on a rough season record wise, there's been real stuff worth staying up late for, or catching on replay the next morning like I usually do.

What Royals moment from this season stuck with you the most?
